Wag Your Tail if You’re Happy

New in Town

I think I’ll like it here.

Brightly colored and playfully illustrated, it is impossible not to feel happy when you read this book.

This is a sweet and simple story about a dog arriving in a new town and his quest to find both a home and a sense of belonging. I like that the story can easily serve as a super relatable and versatile metaphor for arriving in a new country, moving to a new community, or even just starting at a new school.

“And that bright and exciting town now feels like my town.”

But it's the illustrations that are the star of the show. Every page is splashed with tangerine, fuschia, lime green, and turquoise, and it's impossible not to feel as upbeat and optimistic as the pup in the book, who has an infectious glass-half-full mentality. You know it's only a matter of time - and a few page turns - before he settles in.
