Can I get an extension on my drink coupons?

Utterly charming and surprisingly challenging, this series of spotting books is phenomenal. I’m saving ours for an upcoming plane ride; they are the perfect screen-free activity to keep little passengers quietly engaged. But even if you’re not traveling, you still need these books. They’re perfect for filling long summer afternoons and make adorable gifts at birthday parties.

Here are the top three reasons I’m obsessed with this series:

  1. They target different skill levels: The Odd One Out is “Hard” and perfect for Baby Biblio (0-2 years); Where’s the Baby? is “Harder” and great for Little Biblios (3-5 years); Where’s the Pair? is the “Hardest” and will enthrall Bigger Bibios (6-8 years).

  2. Children can do them by themselves: Every page has the same directive, spot the difference or find the pair. Little searchers can leave you alone while they get to work.

  3. There are cognitive benefits!: These books teach patience, focus, and attention to detail. They also develop the visual skills that we use daily to search quickly and accurately, whether it’s to scan maps, schedules, or even this newsletter!

Clearly, I love spotting books, and each book in this series is exceptional. The illustrations are intricately detailed works of art, and the rhyming text that accompanies each scene is cheerful, creative, and bursting with new vocabulary words. I’ll stop gushing now and let you click those Buy buttons.
