It’s Lonely Here Without You

Migrations

I’m doing this for you, you know.

“A life’s impact can be measured by what it gives and what it leaves behind, but it can also be measured by what it steals from the world.”

This book is a reminder of how beautiful our natural world is, and how close we are to destroying it. In a time when the oceans are nearly empty of fish, the skies nearly empty of birds, and the forests nearly empty of creatures, Franny Stone is desperate to follow what is believed will be the final migration of the Arctic terns. The birds have the largest migration of any creature on Earth, flying from the North Pole to the South. But because there are so few fish left in the sea to sustain them on their flight, it’s believed that this journey will be the terns’ last.

It quickly becomes clear that Franny isn’t just following the birds. She’s also fleeing her dark and troubled past. And running towards an uncertain future.
