How do they do that?!

There are few things from childhood that I continue to love and get super excited about as much as pop-up books. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the First Day of Spring coming up this weekend than with the explosion of paper flowers in Flora

“Hummingbirds can drink up to two times their body weight in nectar a day.”

Dense clusters of flowers bloom from every 2-page spread with spectacular effect. As if the pop-ups aren’t cool enough, there are even flaps designed to look like leaves and wings incorporated into the artwork that you can lift to reveal facts about flowers, their habitats, and their impact on our food supply and environment. On the last page, a delicate laser cut greenhouse is the perfect neat and dainty finale to a series of otherwise lush bouquets.
