Like looking for a needle in a haystack.

“Grandad promised to take his grandchildren to the park today. But he needs some help getting ready. He’s lost a few things.”

Turn past the opening page and you will immediately see why Grandad is so chronically and epically disorganized. First of all, he’s basically a hoarder. Second of all, his rooms are completely monochrome, making it extremely difficult to locate things.

The monochromatic element of the book is genius because not only does it exponentially increase the challenge, but it also creates a stunning effect as you move throughout the book and discover each new color. Another tricky aspect is that you’re told what to look for on each page, but you aren’t shown what the object looks like. You can flip ahead for a visual of Grandad with all of his found items if you really get stuck, but part of the fun is scanning the page unaided.

This seek-and-find book is so fun. And SO HARD. It’s perfect for when you have a lot of time to kill together, or when you want to keep your little searcher quietly and independently occupied for an extended period. I think we are all constantly living in either or both of those scenarios. Happy hunting and good luck!
