One of My Favorite Halloween Books

No Such Thing
Written & Illustrated by Ella Bailey
Age Level: 2-5 Years
Published October 1, 2014

Wondering who’d want to haunt me.

Book nerds like me rejoiced this Fall when we learned that the publisher reprinted this Halloween gem; it’s now an easily affordable paperback, while hardback copies cost anywhere from $50 to $350! One reading and you’ll know why it came back by popular demand.

One late October day, Georgia notices that strange things are happening around the house. Objects are moving around and outright disappearing. Refusing to believe anything mysterious is afoot on account of it being the spookiest season, Georgia is quick to come up with more logical explanations. But readers will delight in spotting the real culprits: the naughty little ghosts hidden throughout the pages.

“These wee thieves and mischief-makers
were all fantasies at most.
For if there’s one thing we all know . . .
. . . there’s just no such thing as GHOSTS!”

I am obsessed with seek-and-find books, and this one is excellent because the ghosts are well hidden and provide a bit of a challenge. The illustrations are darling, and I appreciate how the hunt for ghosts provides an opportunity to slow down and inspect all the details. This title might not stay in stock long, so my advice to you is get it while you still can!
