Can I Be Your Dog?

Adopt, don’t shop.

Hands up if you have a rescue dog at home! 🐶

Arfy is a sweet stray who is looking for a home. He writes one letter after another to all the people on Butternut Street, but each one just brings more rejection. Hopeless and homeless, Arfy crawls into a box in an alley for shelter and goes to sleep for the night. But when he wakes up, there’s a letter waiting for him that will make your heart soar. I won’t spoil who the sender is, but you might be able to figure it out from the pictures!

“I am potty trained, and I have my own squeaky bone. Also: I love to play!”

I really appreciate that the final page of the book lists helpful tips and resources for families that are interested in learning more about how they can help homeless animals like Arfy and even how they can adopt. It’s a great way to continue the conversation with your little ones and it’s such a great call to action to help improve the lives of so many poor animals who are out on the streets.
