Exploding with personality, these eccentric and playful seek-and-find books are well-loved favorites in our house. It’s immediately evident from looking at the super creative front and back covers with their gigantic cutout eyes that these books are the brainchild of a bona fide artist. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Anders Arhoj brings his experience working in interiors, graphic design, and illustration to his work, and sprinkles inspiration from his time studying in Tokyo, Japan to his bold and colorful scenes.

“Watch me change color as I run. Can you catch me? Just don’t tell Little Woof where I am!”

Both books are identically structured. Two characters hide on each spread, changing color in every scene for added difficulty. Unlike most seek-and-find books which draw their difficulty from small-scale, super dense illustrations, Arhoj’s work is a lot more open and accessible, making it perfect for younger children. I’m a huge fan of seek-and-find books because not only are they fun, but they have also been shown to lengthen kids’ attention spans because they require patience, concentration, and focus. That’s reason enough to buy both, if you ask me.
